Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4 enters East Seram

Trusted to be health center mobile fleet to drive around district government of East Seram

Jakarta, December 27, 2016 – Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI) as authorized distributors of Tata Motors brand in Indonesia has announced that its 3S dealer partners, at Cikarang PT Surya Tata Mobilindo has sold 8 units of Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4 to CV Ambulance Pintar Indonesia (API) or Smart Ambulance Indonesia. API is a business unit specifically as ambulance manufacturer.

“Xenon XT D-cab 4×4 fleet will be used for ambulance cars around east side of Seram island. This project is the evidence of Tata Motors strong brand and its economical value, that can be used for a various needs,” said Wilda Bachtiar, Marketing Manager of Commercial Vehicles TMDI, who also directly involved in ushering 8 ambulance units of Xenon XT 4×4 Dcab to Seram island.

“There is tough terrain at Seram island with off-road dominance, rocky road, a paved road through mountains and steep mountain slantways, which is very suitable for Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4 profile that equipped with a strong torque and soft suspense,” said Wilda.

Then I’ve tried to prove the comfort, performance, and the economical fuel consumption due to TMDI claim. And all of that promise was proven. Therefore, I bravely offer it to the district health offices, including to district of East Seram Island.

I guess, in terms of comfort and operational cost, Tata Xenon XT D-cab 4×4 is very suitable to serve as ambulance vehicle, regarding patient-oriented comfort and for the health officers. Because its fuel efficient and soft suspension. When all 8 units were delivered to Seram island, the drivers said, that other brands from Ambon harbor to Seram Island could spend a full tank fuel, compares to Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4, the solar spent only half of a tank and there are still remaining fuel.

The health department team of East Seram Island, according to Imron, has also tried directly the Tata Xenon XT D-cab ambulance. “They initially were not interested when I offer Xenon XT D-cab as their ambulance vehicle need. But once they have experienced themselves and feel the comfort, they give positive feedback and entrust the fleet of PHC to Tata Xenon XT D-cab.

The trip to Seram Island from Ambon harbor that went through mountains, especially via Port of Ambon route – Waipirit – East Seram. Between Waipirit – East Seram, there is a ramp called SS (S-shaped), which is very steep and uphill for 3 hours. While the total travel duration from Port of Ambon to East Seram Island took about 18 hours. Xenon XT D-cab 4×4 has succeeded to prove its ability without any significant problem.

Regarding the spare parts availability, according to Imron, TMDI will ensure the availability with opening a branch store that provides special spare parts in Seram.

Equipped with common rail Tata 2.2L VTT Tata diesel engine, casted with combination of 5-speed manual transmission. Maximum power is 140 PS on 4000 rpm and peak torque of 320 Nm at 1700-2700 rpm engine rev. The 4×4 models provide shift features with the fly 4×4 system, which supports optimal off-road capability. Light gearshift and comfort is achieved thanks to GBS-76-5/4.1 gearbox technology, with over drive from Xenon D-Cab.

The load of Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4 can be adapted to different types of business need. Its loading deck made of double corrugated galvanized steel that has haulage up to 1,000 kg with size (LxWxH) 1.430 x 1.410 x 400 mm and 210 mm ground clearance.

In the sector of Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4 feets are equipped with independent suspension with antiroll bar and LSD (Limited Slip Differential) feature, which provides stability when manoeuvring, despite of being in full load mode and easily adapt to various terrain and roads condition. Tata Xenon XT D-Cab 4×4 has been equipped with full safety features. Among them are Collapsible Steering Column, twin circuit braking system, dual airbags, ABS, side impact beams and reinforce 3 layer body construction.
