TATA MOTORS PARTS CENTER

Tata Motors’ global spare parts availability management system is now the standard in Indonesia.

Jakarta, 6 January 2014 – As an automotive industry player in the passenger and commercial vehicles segment, PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI), subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd and sole-authorzied dealer of Tata Motors in Indonesia, fully realizes that the availability of spare parts is a priority in vehicle sales.

Since its introduction in September 2012, TMDI continues to operate systematically in accordance with the standard of Tata Motors Ltd, which is the biggest car manufacturer in India. One of its tangible systematic actions is ensuring spare parts availability.

“Today we visit the Tata Motors spare parts storage in Cibitung to ensure that the availability and management of our spare parts team have met Tata Motors’ global standard,” said Biswadev Sengupta, President Director of TMDI.

00 91 22 66657289 | Tata Parts Center (TPC) is strategically located in Industrial Area MM2100 Cibitung, 29 km from Jakarta with a total area of 900 m2 and can be expanded to 1,300 m2 or more. The facility has the capacity to store more than 8,000 SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) equipment. TPC is a facility that supports Tata Motors’ ‘piece of mind program’, which guarantees spare parts to be delivered to the customer within 1×24 hours, otherwise it would be rendered free.

To support the warehouse’s performance in terms of on-time and efficient delivery, TPC has been fully computerized, utilizing a barcode system for spare parts data stocking. This system allows effective spare part stock tracking for Tata Motors dealers from all over Indonesia to order online through the DMS (Document Management System) software.
