First Mini Diesel Pick Up in Indonesia, Last Mile transportation solution With low cost of ownership

Jakarta, 18 September 2014 – Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI), a full subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd, India’s largest global automotive company and Authorized Agent of Tata Motors in Indonesia, launched the first Mini Diesel Pick Up in Indonesia, the Tata AceEX2, at the 22nd Indonesian International Motor Show 2014 (IIMS) held in JI Expo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

“We are proud to launch the slim, agile, and efficient Tata Ace EX2 in Indonesia. We hope that we can develop the market for mini diesel pick up segment in Indonesia which will support the small and medium business entrepreneurs for its last mile distribution needs. We believe Tata Ace EX2 will fulfill its potential in Indonesia,” said Biswadev Sengupta, President Director of TMDI.

Biswadev Sengupta added that the Tata Ace EX2 is the pride and joy of Tata Motors in India, and is a market leader in its home country. First launched in 2005, over 1 million units have been sold globally. We have done certain changes based on the needs and extensive market study in Indonesia“As it is successful in India, we are sure it will be successful in Indonesia as well because we see that both markets have similar needs, terrain, and market characteristics,” said Biswadev Sengupta.

With the Launch of Tata Ace EX2, Tata Motors is creating a whole new segment in the Pickup Category in Indonesia. This is the smallest Diesel pick up for last mile distribution solutions. With 702cc diesel engine, Tata Ace EX2 is aimed to boost the rural businesses along with the last mile solution for the Urban and semi urban customers. Tata AceEX2 is the pioneer Mini Diesel Pick up in Indonesia, which has excellent fuel mileage and also affordable and can be modified through “karoseri” to cater the needs of the consumer such as Aluminum container, garbage tipper, bottle carrier etc.

Tata Ace was first introduced in 2005 and in these nine years, Tata Motors has sold more than 1 million units of its variants in various countries across the world. Tata Ace is proven to be tough and durable, supporting the entrepreneur community for over 9 years. Tata Ace EX2 is the latest version of Tata Ace Family.

Indonesia’s economy is growing fast and it needs a rugged, fast but small transportation mode to support the economy of its people. Tata Ace EX2 will be the latest solution in the Rural, Semi Urban & Urban transport that is much needed in Indonesia especially in the small and medium enterprise businesses. Tata Ace EX2 has gone through rigorous testing in Indonesia before its launch and posts the feedback from the customer; changes in the product have been also incorporated before the launch in Indonesia.

The Tata Ace EX2 uses 5-speed manual transmission, 13 inch wheels, and a light and responsive steering wheel. Coming with value of advantages which are efficient solar consumption and low maintenance cost. Slim body style makes Ace EX2 more agile. The body of Tata Ace EX2 and its components use thick and strong steel, perfect to transport medium loads like a work horse.
