Tata Motors Joins Indo Defence Expo 2016, Jakarta

Jakarta, 2 November 2016 – Tata Motors Limited, the largest automobile company of India and one of the top ten commercial vehicle manufacturer globally, is participating with its state of the art Military trucks at the Indo Defence Expo 2016.

“Our presence at the Indo Defence Expo 2016 would be the second time the Defense Division of Tata Motors is participating at the Expo but this time we are participating as Exhibitors to demonstrate our products and capabilities to the armed forces. We want to promote our defense mobility solutions which can be very suitable for user departments of Indonesian defense establishment,” said Biswadev Sengupta, President Director, Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI)—full subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd—Authorized Distributor Tata Motors vehicle in Indonesia.

Biswadev explained that Tata Motors has been marketing defence vehicles since 1958 and have sold more than 125,000 vehicles to defence forces. The Tata Motors defence vehicles are already being marketed and trusted by International defence forces of many countries across the globe and have been trusted partners of UN missions in many conflict areas and has supplied more than 500 vehicles to single UN contingent at Africa. The expectation from the Expo is that Indonesia will start to consider Tata Motors Defence vehicles line up to be a part of Indonesian defence establishment.

“Since 2014, Tata Motors defence vehicles have been a part of the Mobile Brigade (Brimob) of Indonesia which are being very effectively used as Search & Rescue vehicles. At this expo, we will display 3 defence vehicles – Tata LPTA 715 4×4 GS truck, Tata LPTA 2038 6×6 High Mobility vehicle and TATA Kestrel 8×8 However we have a much wider range of Defence and Army land system products suitable for various applications and needs which will be introduced in due course in Indonesia,” Biswadev said.

The Tata Motors Defence pavilion at the Indo Defence Expo 2016 will be located at Hall D-228 – India Pavillion of JI-EXPO Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Here’s a brief profile of the Tata Motors Products that will be showcased:

LPTA 715 4×4
The LPTA715 4×4 platform is 2.5T Payload General service truck with high ground clearance, comprehensive components for heavy duty applications, cross country and heavy terrain chassis and structure. It can be used for applications like Troop carrier, Ambulance, light armoured vehicle, command post vehicle, Bomb disposal van and many more. Tata motors have already supplied more than 40,000 vehicles for catering to Indian and International Armed forces.

LPTA 2038 6×6
The Tata LPTA 2038 6×6 platform is a high mobility vehicle platform with militiary cabin and features for combat support operations with standard features like: Antilock braking system (ABS), Winch, Central Tyre inflation system (CTIS), Cross country tyres, Heavy duty axles With 380 hp powerful engine. This platform has been used for multiple applications like: Ammunition carrier with Material Handling Crane, Troop carrier, Crash Fire vehicle, Riot control, Missile loader, the vehicle can carry 5 soldiers and is suitable for various road conditions and situations.

TATA Kestrel 8×8
The Tata Kestrel 8×8 is a Wheeled Amphibious Platform for APC and its variant, powered by 600 Hp, Automatic transmission, Blast and Ballistically protected and has modularity for turret systems and applications as per customer requirement.
