Tata Motors Present in Medan

Ready to compete in the small pickup segment in Medan

Medan, 20 September 2015 – As the nation’s third largest city, Medan the capital city of North Sumatra, is a prime business destination for various brands and products. To serve the transportation needs of these businesses, PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI) is now present in Medan. TMDI is the authorised agent of Tata Motors in Indonesia, subsidiary of India’s largest auto manufacturer Tata Motors Ltd.

“When Tata Motors first came to Indonesia, we initially developed a dealer network in Java, which was soon followed by Bali and Sumatra. In Sumatra we are now present in Pekanbaru, Lampung, and now Medan. Our partner in Medan is PT Trans Niaga Perdana which has much experience in the automotive sector in Medan and Sumatra in general,” said Biswadev Sengupta, President Director of TMDI.

According to Biswadev, Medan is an important market for Tata Motors in Indonesia. For the light, medium, and heavy duty truck market, Medan is a main strategic point for sales and aftersales service.

“The potential for the small pickup segment in Medan is very big and TMDI is ready to compete in this segment in Medan. We are confident that the Tata Super Ace 1400cc diesel and Tata Ace EX2 700cc diesel that offer the lowest operational cost in its class will be the new favourite amongst small and medium-sized businesses in Medan,” added Biswadev.

Biswadev assured that Tata Motors is a global brand committed to customer satisfaction, and holds a global track record of being the profitable choice for customers in the commercial vehicle segment.

Prior to the grand launch in Medan, TMDI and its Medan partner dealer PT Trans Niaga Perdana have already held a series of product introduction events, of which received a good response from the public.

“We are proud to be entrusted by Tata Motors to market Tata Motors products in Medan. We are sure Tata Motors will develop rapidly as a commercial vehicle player in Medan,” said Hang Bun Director of PT Trans Niaga Perdana, 3S (Sales, Service, Spareparts) dealer of Tata Motors in Medan.
