The “Tata Super Ace Challenge” Lampung

To prove the efficiency of the Tata Super Ace 1,400cc diesel engine by the owners of the Tata Super Ace in Lampung

Lampung, December 12 2015 – After successfully conducting the “Tata Super Ace Challenge 2015” for its customers in Surabaya, East Java in October, PT Tata Motors Distribusi Indonesia (TMDI) as Authorised Agent of Tata Motors in Indonesia, held the “Tata Super Ace Challenge 2015” in Lampung.

While Surabaya (East Java) is the biggest sales contributor for TMDI in Java, Lampung holds the TMDI sales record in Sumatra. Since its inauguration in March 2015, the TMDI 3S (Sales, Service, and Spareparts) dealer in Lampung, PT Simpur Mobil Lampung (SML) located in Jl. Letjen H. Alamsyah Ratu Prawira Negara has sold 161 units wholesale and 126 units retailsale.

No less than 20 Tata Super Ace 1,400cc vehicles took part in the fuel efficiency challenge whilst carrying a 1 ton sand payload covering 50km. This fuel efficiency challenge was opened by Manoj Arora, Marketing Advisor of TMDI, and Wilton Toyip, Branch Director of Simpur Mobil Lampung.

“Through this program Tata Motors aims to prove the fuel efficiency of the Tata Super Ace 1,400cc diesel, and to introduce and educate businesses in Lampung that a commercial vehicle with a small capacity diesel engine is the best choice for increasing business profits,” said Manoj Arora.

Manoj added that the Tata Super Ace 1,400cc diesel is the best solution for various sectors, including farming, trade, services, logistics, and public transportation in Lampung. In the first event in Surabaya the Tata Super Ace 1,400cc diesel proved its efficiency by recording 17.74 Kpl. In Lampung, the winner of the challenge booked 18,22 Kpl.

In the event, the participant’s vehicles were filled with a 1 ton sand payload in accordance to the Tata Super Ace standard capacity. The method used to track fuel consumption was full-to-full, which means that the fuel tank was fully filled at the starting line, and re-filled once hitting the finish line. The petrol station before and after the race was chosen by the judges, of which then they sealed each fuel tank with a sticker. At the finish line only the judges were allowed to open the sticker.

Wilton Toyip as Branch Director of PT Simpur Mobil Lampung said, “The Tata Super Ace is known for its fuel efficiency and a low ownership cost, matched with affordable Tata Genuine Parts, making it the best vehicle in its class. This event is great to strengthen the Tata Motors brand in Lampung,” said Wilton.
