Visiting Tata Motors PDI Facility in Indonesia

Jakarta , October 25, 2013 – RT Wasan Head International Business, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit Tata Motors Limited accompanied by President Director of PT Tata Motors Distribution Indonesia (TMDI) , 100% subsidiary of Tata Motors in Indonesia Biswadev Sengupta and other TMDI director visited PT Puninar Logistics located in Cakung , North Jakarta to scrutinize the process of Pre – Delivery Inspection ( PDI ) and stock management of Tata Motors vehicles in Indonesia .

This event is a proof to the seriousness of Tata to achieve customer satisfaction. In addition to visiting is to ensure the excellence of PDI process according to required quality standards. The executives of TMDI and TML directly monitor the CBU stocking storage process after units land on the Port of Tanjung Priok.

“Quality inspection of the car before delivery to the dealership after landing at the port of Tanjung Priok is a very important process. We want this process to be carried out by the experts so that it is done according to standards and to the satisfaction of our dealership and customers of Tata Motors car buyers” said Biswadev Sengupta

TMDI is utilizing an area of 6,000 SQM which can accommodate more than 400 vehicles of Tata Motors. “We chose PT. Puninar Logistics because of their expertise and proven track record in PDI and stockyard management and also because of the location being very close to the port,” said Biswadev.

Currently the PDI team can carry out 24 vehicles PDI in one day. This figure will certainly increase with the demand for Tata Motors vehicles in Indonesia continuing to grow.

For PDI process, the area have 7 dedicated service bays for vehicles checking that can accommodate small vehicles to large trucks . There is also a vehicle wash area, the vehicle’s interior and exterior checking and cleaning area. This facility can handle the stocking and PDI process for passenger and commercial vehicles.

Currently TMDI markets Tata Aria (MPV crossover for 7 passengers), Tata Safari Storme (SUV) and Tata Vista hatchback. All vehicles for Indonesian market are Completely Built Up from India.
